Central Support

Clare Foster -  NPQH  Head of ITT

Clare Foster is an educator dedicated to challenging educational disadvantage, with over 15 years of experience within education both as a senior leader and consultant. Clare’s career started with Teach First in the West of London teaching History, where she stayed for two years before moving to lead a Pupil Referral Unit in North London before leading a large Sixth Form in Hertfordshire. Since then, she worked for SSAT as an Education Lead followed by serving two Senior Leadership Teams in Hertfordshire and London. Clare has been nominated for the Senior Leadership Team of the year 2023 and has recently been awarded her NPQH.   

Bethany Goodwin  - Secondary ITT lead

Bethany Goodwin, is a seasoned professional with over a decade of dedicated service within the education sector. Bethany's journey began with a focused commitment to becoming a Geography teacher, achieving her qualifications after attending the Institute of Education, University College London. Her career took her from the vibrant educational landscape of Hackney, where she initially taught Geography, to the enriching experience of teaching in Ecuador. In Ecuador, Bethany held pivotal roles as Head of Geography and Effective Learning Coordinator, fostering a dynamic learning environment in an all-through school. Returning to the UK, she dedicated five years to a school in Newham, where her roles evolved significantly. Notably, she served as the Director of Early Career Teachers and Initial Teacher Training, propelling her to the role of Associate Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning. Bethany's educational journey was further augmented by the completion of a Masters in Expert Teaching, shaping her into a dedicated and versatile professional committed to educational excellence. 

Sherelle Lauder - Primary ITT Lead

Sherelle brings to the team significant experience and knowledge of Primary education from a range of settings. Within school, Sherelle has held Senior Leadership positions including leading on Teaching and Learning and core curriculum areas. Sherelle is passionate about developing and inspiring others through extending their understanding and effectiveness. She has responsibility for the primary programme and supports the Primary subject leaders in their delivery of the training programme.  Sherelle works closely with the Head of SCITT to support the vision and the development of the programme. 

Rachel Taylor - ITT Coordinator

Rachel brings to the team sector knowledge in both initial teacher training and secondary science education. She embarked on a teaching career in 2005, teaching science and A-level chemistry across a range of settings within North London, Luton and Hertfordshire. During this time, she has held a range of leadership roles at departmental and whole-school level, as well as providing school-to-school support within her role as a Specialist Leader of Education (SLE).Most recently she has developed her career within the ITE sector, leading the secondary provision for a non-London based SCITT and joins the team as our ITT coordinator. Rachel is passionate about ensuring those entering the profession are well supported.

Natalie Parker  - Director of Teacher Development

Natalie oversees the delivery of our training programme, regularly sourcing expert teachers to lead sessions to our trainee teachers with a particular focus on sharing evidence-informed practice. She has a background in teacher education, having worked on teacher training projects in several countries alongside acting as an associate tutor for the Teach First programme. She has an MA in Educational Leadership from the Institute of Education with a focus on continuing professional development. 

Subject leads

Future Teacher Training offer the unique experience of providing each trainee with a Lead Mentor and expert coach for each of the subjects we train in. Our expert team of 12 are on hand to support and guide trainees throughout the programme delivering small group training each week to help you to link your central training to your subject specifically. These experts are highly skilled in the core elements of our curriculum and in many cases have written the subject offers within Future Academies. This enables you to learn to teach lessons that have been expertly crafted under the tutelage of the individual who in most cased has written the material. These experts are also on hand to guide trainees through Intensive Training and Practice, live coaching and modelling. Furthermore, this group of experts will continue to support your curriculum development throughout a career with Future Academies

School mentors

Every trainee is carefully matched to a school-based mentor who will offer support and developmental coaching in your placement.  You will develop a working relationship to support your mastery of the Core Content Framework and eventually the teaching standards through regular observation and coaching. This is one of the true strengths of our programme and trainees often talk about it being fundamental to their success. 

Professional mentors

As part of your training journey, you also benefit from the experienced leadership of the Professional Mentor in your school setting. These seasoned experts provide training, guidance, and support throughout your training experience, enabling you to have the best possible experience.

We have a strong network of alumni now in our schools, with many subject leaders and Senior Leaders now having trained with us.
